NARSOL In Action conference call will include three different topics and a two guests, so mark your calendar and sign up now. The program begins at 7:00 eastern time, and our special guests are attorneys Colleen Kelley and Jennifer Burrill. The first hour will be similar to last month’s popular program dealing with deregistration petitions. We are doing this topic again due to popular demand and because of technical problems we have now corrected.

Panel Bios

Colleen Kelley  was a guest on last month's program. She is an associate at Wolf Law LLC located in Denver and has dedicated her practice entirely to criminal defense. You can find out more about her here.

Jennifer Burrill attended Case Western Reserve University’s School of Law where her studies focused on international criminal law and litigation. Following graduation, she joined the district attorney’s office in Clovis, New Mexico, where she spent several years prosecuting felony level cases prior to opening her defense practice. After nine (9) years in private practice, Ms. Burrill joined the Santa Fe Trial Division of the Law Office of Public Defender. She is a member of the New Mexico Criminal Defense Attorneys board of directors and serves on the media committee.

First Hour:  Ms. Kelley will discuss eligibility and how a person can petition for deregistration in Colorado. Ms. Kelley has successfully handled deregistration petitions throughout the state Colorado. Audience questions will be taken during this segment.

Second Hour:  Ms. Kelley and Ms. Burrill will join Larry for an hour of Can They Do That? People often ask us if their supervising PO or registry tracking officer can impose a particular requirement or if their demands may be unlawful. We will try to answer such questions.

Third Hour:  Ms. Burrill will discuss plea agreements and her strategy in terms of negotiated pleas. It is noteworthy that Ms. Burrill has won 75% of the cases she has taken to trial when the state refuses to offer an appropriate plea. We hope to take questions if time permits.
