The 2026 NARSOL Annual Conference is the largest gathering of advocates, families, and legal experts in the field. We need to fill 100+ volunteer slots across four days to make it happen — and you can still be in the room during most volunteer activities.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

All NARSOL/VIVANTE volunteers must read and acknowledge our Code of Conduct. Please read the full document below, then sign to continue.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

It is a clear expectation of NARSOL/VIVANTE that its volunteers who, whether electronically or in person, interact with members of the public while volunteering for NARSOL/VIVANTE will at all times communicate and behave professionally and respectfully. All interactions will be free of sexual, biased, or inappropriately personal language or innuendo. Violations of this code of conduct may result in being disallowed from future volunteer opportunities with NARSOL/VIVANTE.

Complaint Process

Should a complaint arise regarding a NARSOL/VIVANTE director, volunteer, or contractor, the following process will be followed:

  1. The executive director will notify the executive committee (or the entire board if deemed appropriate) and request:
    • A statement from the complainant to include:
      • Date of Incident.
      • Factual listing of events that took place.
      • Resolution to the complaint that is being sought.
    • A rebuttal statement from the director, volunteer, or contractor to include:
      • Their version of the incident.
      • Factual listing of events that took place.
      • Comments on the resolution being sought.
    • Supporting statements from any applicable 3rd parties to include:
      • Their understanding of the incident.
      • Factual listing of events as they understand it.
  2. The executive director will present the incident and statements to the executive committee, which will consider and determine appropriate action.
  3. The executive director will notify all parties to the complaint of the results and actions determined by the executive committee.
